I am a contemporary textile artist, and have been creating and selling art pieces for over twenty years.
I love the process of working with fabric and stitch, and have been collecting both for as long as I can remember, having amassed a treasured store of new, re-used and vintage material and threads.
In my studio in Sheffield I am surrounded by their beautiful colours, patterns and textures; and by a vast collection of buttons, beads, ribbons, and interesting found objects.
Inspiration for my work comes from many places, but most often from the colours, shapes and textures I see in nature; I’m ever grateful for its beauty, in flowers, birds, and animals, and in the calming effect of the landscape and the sea.

I have also started a weekly embroidery class on Wednesday mornings from 10am - 12 noon during term time.
It is based at the Dronfield Hall Barn in Dronfield S18.
The classes are relaxed & informal, where you can experiment with hand and/or free-machine embroidery.
They are suitable for anyone, from those who would like to have a go at embroidery but are maybe not sure where to begin - to experienced sewers.
The barn is a beautiful Grade II listed heritage, arts & natural history centre with an on-site cafe, next to Dronfield Hall.
We are based in the courtyard room on the ground floor which is warm, light and overlooks the courtyard & cafe. There is disabled access & toilets close by.
Free parking is available in the Sainsbury’s car park through the nature garden at the rear of the barn.
The classes are running now and can be joined at any time costing £20 per session, paid in half termly blocks.
Single taster sessions are available for £20 to see if its for you.
A half term is usually from 5-8 weeks (the first block is 5 weeks).
All materials are provided including a wide range of fabrics, threads, beads, buttons, trims, hoops, needles etc. as well as lots of samples, images, Embroidery magazines & books to look at for inspiration.
There are cold refreshments and biscuits included during the sessions. You are welcome to purchase hot drinks from the cafe, (which is directly opposite the courtyard room), or bring along a flask!
You can bring your own project to work on or come along and discuss ideas with me during the session. Everyone can work at their own pace.
There are plenty of plug sockets for anyone wanting to bring their own sewing machine for free-machine embroidery. I also have spare machines for those who need them.
